Prepare the Apples
Peel, core, and slice the apples into wedges. Toss them with lemon juice and cinnamon.

Make the Caramel
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the granulated sugar and continue to cook until it turns a golden caramel color.

Add Fig Preserves
Stir in the fig preserves into the caramel until combined.

Arrange Apples
Layer the apple wedges into the skillet, arranging them tightly in a circular pattern. Cook for about 10 minutes until the apples start to soften.

Bake
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Cool and Serve
Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Carefully invert onto a serving plate. Serve warm with whipped crème fraîche.
