Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Soak the Seaweed

In a bowl, soak the dried wakame seaweed in warm water for about 10-15 minutes until it becomes tender and expands. Drain and squeeze out any excess water.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the seaweed is soaking, thinly slice the cucumber, julienne the carrot, and thinly slice the radishes. Place all the prepared vegetables in a large mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Toast the Sesame Seeds

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the sesame seeds for about 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool.

Make the Dressing

  1. 4

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, red pepper flakes, and minced garlic until well combined.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 5

    Mix Salad and Dressing

Add the soaked wakame seaweed to the bowl with the sliced vegetables. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine.

  2. 6

    Add Sesame Seeds

Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds on top of the salad and give it one final toss.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the seaweed salad immediately or refrigerate for up to an hour before serving for enhanced flavors.
