Churro Ingredients

Method

Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until fully combined.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Let the mixture cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Churros

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Coat with Sugar

In a shallow dish, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the mixture while they are still warm.

  6. 6

    Make the Chocolate Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream. Heat over low heat, stirring until smooth and melted.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the churros warm with the chocolate sauce for dipping.
