Prepare the Glass
Chill a rocks glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the cocktail.

Mix the Ingredients
In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of bourbon, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.

Add Ice
Fill the shaker with ice cubes until it is about 2/3 full.

Shake or Stir
Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15 seconds or stir gently for 30 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Discard the ice water from the rocks glass. Strain the cocktail mixture into the chilled glass.
