Tenderloin Filet Ingredients

Method

Tenderloin Filet Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the beef tenderloin filet from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Season the Steak

Pat the filet dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Sear the Filet

Once the pan is hot, place the seasoned filet in the skillet. Sear for 4-5 minutes on one side until a golden crust forms.

  5. 5

    Add Aromatics

Flip the filet over and add the smashed garlic cloves and fresh rosemary to the pan. Sear for an additional 4-5 minutes.

  6. 6

    Baste the Steak

Using a spoon, baste the filet with the melted butter and the pan juices for enhanced flavor. Continue cooking until the desired doneness is reached (130°F for medium-rare).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the filet from the skillet and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the tenderloin filet and serve it with your favorite sides.
