Method

Preparing the Jumbo Shrimp

  1. 1

    Clean the Shrimp

Rinse the jumbo shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, season the shrimp with salt and black pepper. Set aside.

Breaded Option (if desired)

  1. 3

    Prepare Breading Station

Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with a beaten egg, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with paprika and garlic powder.

  2. 4

    Bread the Shrimp

Dredge each seasoned shrimp in flour, dip into the egg, and then coat with breadcrumbs. Place on a baking sheet.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 5

    Sauté the Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp in a single layer.

  2. 6

    Finish Cooking

Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until shrimp are pink and opaque. If using breaded shrimp, fry until golden brown.

Making the Rice Pilaf

  1. 7

    Sauté the Onion

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

  2. 8

    Cook the Rice

Stir in the rice, coating it in the butter and onion mixture. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil.

  3. 9

    Finish Cooking Rice

Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Cooking the Corn on the Cob

  1. 10

    Boil the Corn

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the corn on the cob and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender.

  2. 11

    Butter the Corn

Remove the corn from the water and spread butter over the hot corn. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
