Cooking Pasta

Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring 4-6 cups of water to a rolling boil.

Add Salt
Once the water is boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Linguine
Add 8 oz of linguine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Making Alfredo Sauce

Melt Butter
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter.

Add Garlic
Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the melted butter and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add Heavy Cream
Pour in 2 cups of heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Incorporate Parmesan Cheese
Gradually whisk in 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy.

Season the Sauce
Add 1 tsp of black pepper and 1 tsp of grated nutmeg, stirring to incorporate.
Combining and Serving

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained linguine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

Serve the linguine Alfredo in bowls, garnished with 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley.
