Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary. Ensure an even coating on both sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, approximately 450°F (232°C).

  4. 4

    Grill the Steaks

Place the steaks on the hot grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Adjust the time according to your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steaks

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Garlic Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into evenly sized chunks. Place them in a large pot and cover with cold water.

  2. 7

    Cook the Potatoes

Add a pinch of salt to the water and bring it to a boil over high heat. Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.

  3. 8

    Cook the Garlic

While the potatoes are cooking, peel and smash the garlic cloves. In a small saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over low heat and add the garlic. Sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  4. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Once the potatoes are cooked, drain them and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic, remaining butter, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  5. 10

    Serve

Transfer the garlic mashed potatoes to a serving bowl and serve alongside the grilled ribeye steaks.
