Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cedarwood Smoke

Soak cedarwood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Once soaked, drain the chips and dry them. Use a smoking gun to infuse the bourbon with cedarwood smoke, or alternatively, you can place the chips in a fire-safe bowl and light them to create smoke.

  2. 2

    Combine the Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of Michter's Bourbon, 1 oz of Amaro Blend, 1 oz of Sweet Vermouth, and 2 dashes of Bitters. Fill the glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup) and stir well for about 20-30 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.

  3. 3

    Infuse with Cedarwood Smoke

After stirring, take the smoked bourbon mixture and gently pour it into a chilled coupe glass, allowing the cedarwood smoke to mingle with the drink for a few seconds before serving.

  4. 4

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish the drink with a maraschino cherry and an orange twist. To create the twist, take a strip of orange peel and twist it over the drink to release the oils, then drop it in. Serve immediately.
