Method

For the Togarashi Ahi Tuna

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tuna

Pat the ahi tuna steaks dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and then coat them evenly with the togarashi spice blend.

  2. 2

    Sear the Tuna

Heat the sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned tuna steaks. Sear for 1-2 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.

For the Kimchi Cabbage Slaw

  1. 3

    Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the green cabbage and grate the carrot. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 4

    Mix the Slaw

Add the kimchi, rice vinegar, and sesame seeds to the bowl with the cabbage and carrot. Toss everything together until well combined. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

For the Wasabi Avocado Crema

  1. 5

    Prepare the Avocado Crema

In a small bowl, mash the ripe avocado with a fork until smooth. Stir in the wasabi paste and lime juice. Season with salt to taste. Mix until well combined and creamy.
