Method
Prepare Dough
- 1
Mixing Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water and oil while mixing until a dough forms.
- 2
Kneading the Dough
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.

Divide and Roll
After resting, divide the dough into equal-sized balls (about 8-10). Take one ball, flatten it slightly, and roll it into a thin circle (about 6-8 inches in diameter).
- 4
Layering with Ghee
Spread a thin layer of ghee/butter on the rolled-out dough. You can also sprinkle some chopped cilantro and sesame seeds for added flavor if desired.
- 5
Folding
Fold the dough in half, then fold it again to form a triangle or simply roll it into a log shape. Flatten it gently and roll it out again into a circle.

Cooking Paratha
Place the rolled paratha on the hot surface. Cook for about 2 minutes until bubbles form, then flip it over and cook for another 2 minutes. Brush with ghee on both sides while cooking.

Finishing Touch
Once golden brown and cooked through, remove the paratha from the pan and keep it warm in a cloth. Repeat the process for the remaining dough balls.
