Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Paneer
Cut the paneer into bite-sized cubes and set aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine chickpea flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.
- 3
Add Water
Gradually add water to the mixture while stirring to form a smooth batter that coats the back of a spoon. Adjust the water quantity as needed.
Frying
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or kadhai, heat the oil over medium heat until hot.
- 5
Coat the Paneer
Dip each paneer cube into the batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 6
Fry the Pakoras
Carefully drop the batter-coated paneer cubes into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding and cook until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- 7
Drain Excess Oil
Remove the pakoras using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
- 8
Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle chaat masala on top if desired, and serve hot with lemon wedges and fresh coriander leaves as garnish.
