Dough Ingredients

Toppings (optional)

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well to ensure an even distribution of the dry ingredients.

  2. 2

    Add Wet Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the yogurt, olive oil, and water. Mix with a fork or your hands until the dough starts to come together.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Rest the Dough

Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking Naan

  1. 5

    Prepare for Cooking

After resting, divide the dough into equal portions (about 6). Roll each portion into a ball and then flatten it into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 6

    Cook the Naan

Preheat a skillet or tandoor over medium-high heat. Place a naan on the skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbles form on the surface. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings (Optional)

If using, immediately brush the cooked naan with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic and chopped cilantro.

  4. 8

    Serve

Remove the naan from the skillet and place it in a warm dish. Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions. Serve warm.
