Mashed Potatoes

Method

Cooking the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the ribeye steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting time for your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

In the last minute of cooking, add the garlic cloves and rosemary to the skillet. Baste the steaks with the oil and juices using a spoon.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Making Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and quarter the potatoes. Place them in a large pot, cover with water, and add salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve the mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steaks.
