Toppings

Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Texas Chili Topping

  1. 4

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 5

    Cook Ground Beef

Add 0.5 pound of ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 6

    Add Seasonings and Ingredients

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, diced tomatoes (with juices), kidney beans, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Place a cooked burger patty on the bottom half of each burger bun. Top with a generous scoop of the Texas chili topping.

  2. 8

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the chili and add pickles, lettuce, and tomato slices as desired. Place the top half of the bun on each burger.
