Method

Meatloaf Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  3. 3

    Shape the Meatloaf

Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Top with Ketchup

Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

  5. 5

    Bake the Meatloaf

Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Gravy Preparation

  1. 6

    Melt Butter

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 7

    Add Flour

Once the butter is melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.

  3. 8

    Add Beef Broth

Slowly add the beef broth while continuously whisking to prevent lumps. Bring to a simmer and let it thicken.

  4. 9

    Season the Gravy

Stir in salt and black pepper. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Mashed Potatoes Preparation

  1. 10

    Boil Potatoes

Place the peeled and chopped potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 11

    Drain and Mash

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Texas Toast Preparation

  1. 12

    Prepare the Bread

Spread butter on one side of each slice of thick-cut bread. Sprinkle garlic powder over the buttered side.

  2. 13

    Toast the Bread

Place the bread butter-side down on a skillet over medium heat. Toast until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
