Meatball Preparation

Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form and Cook Meatballs
Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

Cook the Marinara Sauce
In a saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 minced garlic clove and sauté for 1 minute. Then add the canned crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble the Sandwiches
Slice the sub rolls in half. Place a few meatballs in each roll, spoon over the marinara sauce, and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Melt the Cheese
Place the assembled sandwiches on a baking sheet and put them under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.
