Guacamole

Tortilla Chips

Method

Guacamole Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Avocados

Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mash the Avocados

Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).

  3. 3

    Add Lime Juice and Salt

Stir in the lime juice and salt, mixing well to combine.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Vegetables

Add the diced tomatoes, diced red onion, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, and jalapeño to the bowl and gently fold them into the avocado mixture until evenly distributed.

Tortilla Chips Preparation

  1. 5

    Cut the Tortillas

Stack the corn tortillas and cut them into wedges or triangles, depending on your preference.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

  3. 7

    Fry the Tortilla Chips

Carefully place a few tortilla wedges into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally.

  4. 8

    Drain and Season

Remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle lightly with salt while still hot.
