Fries

Texas Chili

Nacho Cheese Sauce

Method

Fries

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fries

Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the frozen fries package. Spread the frozen French fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Bake the Fries

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for the recommended time, usually 20-25 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown. Stir halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Texas Chili

  1. 3

    Cook the Meat

In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 4

    Add Vegetables and Spices

Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until the onion is translucent. Stir in the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and water. Mix well.

  3. 5

    Simmer the Chili

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Nacho Cheese Sauce

  1. 6

    Make the Roux

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbly but not browned.

  2. 7

    Add Milk and Cheese

Slowly add the milk to the roux, whisking constantly until the mixture thickens. Gradually stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper.

Assembly

  1. 8

    Assemble the Dish

Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven. Place the crispy fries on a serving plate, top them generously with the Texas chili, and drizzle the nacho cheese sauce over the top.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve the chili cheese fries immediately while hot, and enjoy!
