Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the beef patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip them. Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Prepare the toppings

While the patties are cooking, slice the avocado and tomato. Rinse the lettuce leaf and set aside.

  2. 4

    Assemble the burger

Once the patties are cooked, toast the burger buns if desired. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, then add the cooked patty with melted Swiss cheese. Top with avocado slices, lettuce, and tomato. Place the top bun on and serve immediately.
