Method

Preparing the Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and dry the lettuce thoroughly. Tear or chop it into bite-sized pieces. Halve the cherry tomatoes, peel and slice the cucumber, and dice the bell pepper and red onion.

  2. 2

    Cook the Green Beans

In a pot of boiling salted water, blanch the green beans for about 3-4 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and plunge into ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain again before adding to the salad.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Hard-Boiled Eggs

Place the eggs in a pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-12 minutes, then transfer to cold water to cool. Peel and slice the eggs.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 4

    Combine the Base Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the prepared lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, and red onion. Toss gently to combine.

  2. 5

    Add Protein and Toppings

Add the canned tuna (drained), blanched green beans, sliced hard-boiled eggs, black olives, and capers on top of the salad.

Preparing the Dressing

  1. 6

    Mix the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Finishing Touches

  1. 7

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad and gently toss to coat all ingredients evenly. Serve immediately.
