Eggs and Assembly

Method

Biscuits

  1. 1

    Prepare the Biscuit Dough

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk until just combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.

  3. 3

    Bake the Biscuits

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

Sausage Gravy

  1. 4

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 5

    Make the Gravy

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine. Gradually add the milk while stirring constantly. Cook until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with black pepper and salt to taste.

Eggs and Assembly

  1. 6

    Cook the Eggs

In a small skillet, fry the eggs to your desired doneness (sunny side up, over easy, etc.).

  2. 7

    Assemble the Dish

Split the baked biscuits in half and place a sausage patty on each half. Top with fried eggs, sprinkle cheese on top, and cover generously with sausage gravy.

  3. 8

    Prepare the Hashbrowns

Cook hashbrowns according to package instructions or your preferred method until crispy.
