Chicken Marinade
Sandwich Assembly
Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, combine ranch dressing, olive oil, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).
- 4
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. During the last minute of grilling, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each chicken breast to melt.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Toast the Texas Toast
While the chicken is grilling, toast the Texas toast slices on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
On one slice of toasted Texas toast, place the grilled chicken with melted cheese. Top with cooked bacon pieces, lettuce, and tomato slices. Drizzle with additional ranch dressing if desired. Top with another slice of Texas toast.
