Cooking the Chili
1. Prepare the Ingredients
Start by chopping the onion, bell pepper, and mincing the garlic. Set aside.
2. Cook the Meat
In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
3. Sauté the Vegetables
Add the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the pot. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
4. Add the Spices
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
5. Combine Ingredients
Add the canned diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and black beans to the pot. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
