Hamburger Steak

Fried Onions (optional)

Method

Cook Hamburger Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with Ron's seasoning salt and seasoned pepper. Mix gently until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Patties

Shape the seasoned ground beef into a patty approximately 5 oz in weight.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the hamburger steak patty to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Prepare Fried Onions (optional)

  1. 4

    Slice the Onion

Peel and slice the medium onion into thin rings.

  2. 5

    Dredge the Onions

Place the all-purpose flour in a bowl and coat the onion rings evenly in the flour.

  3. 6

    Fry the Onions

In a separate pot, heat the vegetable oil for frying over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the floured onion rings and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare Sides

  1. 7

    Cook French Fries

Bake or fry the frozen French fries according to the package instructions until crispy.

  2. 8

    Toast Texas Toast

Toast the Texas toast slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

  3. 9

    Prepare Coleslaw or Salad

If serving Ron's homemade coleslaw, prepare it according to your preferred recipe. Alternatively, serve cottage cheese or a small salad on the side.
