Method

Steak Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the 5 oz sirloin steak evenly with Ron’s seasoning salt and seasoned pepper on both sides. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil if desired, and once hot, place the seasoned steak in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare or to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Fried Onions (optional)

If you prefer fried onions, add them on top of the steak during the last minute of cooking to warm them through.

Serving the Dish

  1. 4

    Prepare the Sides

While the steak is cooking, prepare your sides. Fry or bake the small order of French fries according to package instructions.

  2. 5

    Toast the Texas Toast

Toast the two slices of Texas toast in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Choose Your Side

Select one of Ron’s homemade coleslaw, cottage cheese, or a small salad to accompany your meal.

  4. 7

    Plate the Dish

Once the steak is cooked to your liking, place it on a plate. Arrange the fries, Texas toast, and your chosen side next to the steak. Serve immediately.
