Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently, being careful not to overwork the meat. Form into a single patty that weighs approximately 1/5 pound.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patty and cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, or until a nice crust forms. Flip the patty and place a slice of cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 3

    Prepare the Bun

While the patty is cooking, slice the burger bun in half and lightly toast it on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Place the cooked cheeseburger patty on top, followed by the second slice of cheese. Add slices of pickle, lettuce, and tomato as desired.

  3. 5

    Complete the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun and gently press down to secure the layers. Your 1/5 pound double cheeseburger is now ready to be enjoyed!
