Vegetarian Pizza Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pizza Dough

If using homemade dough, prepare it according to your recipe. If using store-bought dough, follow package instructions.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure a crispy crust.

  3. 3

    Slice the Vegetables

Thinly slice the red onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Set aside.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the sliced red onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened. Season with salt and black pepper, then remove from heat.

  5. 5

    Roll Out the Dough

On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a circle about 12 inches in diameter.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Pizza

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then evenly distribute the sautéed vegetables on top.

  7. 7

    Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  8. 8

    Add Fresh Basil

Once the pizza is out of the oven, immediately scatter fresh basil leaves over the top.

  9. 9

    Slice and Serve

Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes, then slice into wedges and serve hot.
