    Prepare the ingredients

    Wash the fresh tomatoes under cold running water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.

    Slice the tomatoes

    Using a sharp knife, slice the tomatoes into approximately 1/4-inch thick slices. Arrange them on a serving platter.

    Slice the mozzarella

    Slice the fresh mozzarella cheese into similar 1/4-inch thick rounds. Place the mozzarella slices on top of the tomato slices on the platter.

    Tear the fresh basil leaves gently with your hands and sprinkle them over the tomatoes and mozzarella.
