Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crust

In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand.

  2. 2

    Form the Crust

Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Make sure to press it evenly to create a solid base.

  3. 3

    Pre-bake the Crust

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the crust for about 10 minutes, then remove from oven and let it cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Beat Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Sugar and Sour Cream

Gradually add the granulated sugar and sour cream, mixing until fully combined and smooth.

  3. 6

    Incorporate Vanilla and Eggs

Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

  4. 7

    Add Flour

Sift in the all-purpose flour and mix on low speed until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  5. 8

    Pour Filling into Crust

Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust and smooth the top with a spatula.

Baking

  1. 9

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake in the preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.

  2. 10

    Cool the Cheesecake

Turn off the oven and crack the door slightly. Let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour to avoid cracking.

  3. 11

    Chill in the Refrigerator

Remove from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, before serving.

Topping Preparation

  1. 12

    Prepare the Topping (Optional)

If desired, top the chilled cheesecake with fresh berries and a sprinkle of powdered sugar just before serving.
