Directions
- 1
Cook the Spaghetti
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Marinara Sauce
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once heated, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and stir well. Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Combine Spaghetti with Sauce
Once the marinara sauce has thickened, add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet. Toss the spaghetti in the sauce until fully coated and heated through.
- 5
Serve the Dish
Plate the spaghetti marinara, garnishing with fresh basil leaves and serving with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
