Prepare the Tomatoes
Wash the Roma tomatoes thoroughly under running water. Remove the stems and chop them into small dice, ensuring they are uniform for even cooking.

Mince the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and finely mince them using a knife or a garlic press. Set aside.

Wash and Prepare Basil
Rinse the fresh basil leaves under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry gently with a towel and roughly chop them.

Sauté the Garlic
In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant but not browned.

Incorporate Basil
Once the tomatoes have softened, add the chopped fresh basil leaves to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Season the tomato and basil mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm as a topping for crusty bread, pasta, or as a fresh side dish.
