Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil.

  2. 2

    Cook Linguini

Add linguini to boiling water and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the linguini in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.

Making the White Clam Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Clams and Wine

Add canned clams (with juice) and white wine to the skillet. Stir to combine.

  3. 6

    Season the Sauce

Add red pepper flakes, chopped parsley, lemon juice, and black pepper to taste. Let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes.

  4. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked linguini to the clam sauce, tossing to coat the pasta. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
