Method
Salad Preparation
- 1
Prepare the lettuce
Wash the iceberg lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Remove any wilted or damaged outer leaves. Dry the lettuce using a salad spinner or by patting it dry with paper towels. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.
- 2
Add toppings
Slice the pepperoni into smaller pieces or leave them whole, depending on your preference. Halve the tomatoes and add them to the bowl. Add the pepperoncinis and green Sicilian olives to the salad bowl. Finally, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the salad.
Dressing Preparation
- 3
Mix the dressing
In a small bowl or jar, combine the olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Whisk or shake well until all ingredients are fully combined and emulsified.
- 4
Dress the salad
Drizzle the homemade Italian dressing over the salad. Toss the salad gently to ensure all the ingredients are coated with the dressing. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.
