Method

Tea Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, remove the tea bags and discard them.

Sweetening Process

  1. 4

    Add Sweetener

If you prefer sweet tea, stir in 1 cup of granulated sugar or honey while the tea is still warm to ensure it dissolves completely. For raspberry sweet tea, add 1 cup of raspberry syrup instead.

Flavoring (Optional)

  1. 5

    Add Flavors

For added flavor, stir in 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and toss in 10 fresh mint leaves. Allow to steep for an additional 5 minutes.

Chill and Serve

  1. 6

    Cool Down

Let the sweetened tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until chilled.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the tea over ice, garnished with additional mint leaves or lemon slices if desired.
