Preparation and Cooking Shrimp

Cook the Rice
In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of white rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.

Prepare the Shrimp
While the rice is cooking, season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and gochugaru flakes. Ensure the shrimp are evenly coated with the seasoning.

Cook the Shrimp
Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked.

Plate the Dish
Spoon the cooked rice onto serving plates and top with the gochugaru shrimp. Garnish with additional cilantro and lemon wedges if desired.
