Method

Preparation and Cooking Shrimp

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of white rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Shrimp

While the rice is cooking, season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and gochugaru flakes. Ensure the shrimp are evenly coated with the seasoning.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large cast iron skillet, heat the clarified butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, making sure not to burn it.

  4. 4

    Cook the Shrimp

Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side until they turn pink, then flip them over and cook for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked.

  5. 5

    Add Lemon and Cilantro

Once the shrimp are cooked, remove the skillet from heat. Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the shrimp and toss in the chopped cilantro. Mix well to combine all flavors.
