Meatloaf

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatloaf

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatloaf

Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf. Spread ketchup evenly on top.

  3. 3

    Bake the Meatloaf

In a separate bowl, mix tomato sauce and sugar. Pour this mixture over the meatloaf. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

  4. 4

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

While the meatloaf is baking, place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Add a pinch of salt and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.

  5. 5

    Mash the Potatoes

Add butter, milk, and additional salt to the drained potatoes. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  6. 6

    Cook the Green Beans

In another pot, bring water to boil and add the trimmed green beans. Cook for about 5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

  7. 7

    Serve

Slice the meatloaf and serve with a generous portion of mashed potatoes and green beans on the side.
