Churro Dough

Frying and Coating

Method

Prepare the Churro Dough

  1. 1

    Boil Water and Butter

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until butter is melted.

  2. 2

    Mix in Flour

Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly stir in flour until a smooth dough forms. Return to low heat and cook, stirring, for about 1-2 minutes until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs

Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl and let cool for a few minutes. Then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.

Fry the Churros

  1. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Carefully pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to your desired length with scissors.

  3. 6

    Fry Until Golden

Fry the churros for about 2-4 minutes or until they are golden brown, turning them halfway through to ensure even cooking.

  4. 7

    Drain and Cool

Using a slotted spoon, remove the churros from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Coat the Churros

  1. 8

    Mix Sugar and Cinnamon

In a shallow bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 9

    Coat Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
