Method
Preparation
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the nachos.
Prepare the Tortilla Chips
Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet, ensuring they are not overlapping.
Cook the Meat (if not pre-cooked)
If using ground beef or chicken, cook it in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then set aside.
Assembling the Nachos
Layer the Ingredients
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the tortilla chips. Follow with the cooked meat, jalapeños, and any other desired toppings.
Baking
Bake the Nachos
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove and Serve
Once baked, remove the nachos from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Serve hot with sour cream, guacamole, and chopped green onions on the side.
