Cut the corn tortillas into triangles to form chips.

In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

Carefully add the tortilla triangles in batches to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.

Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Season with salt to taste.

In a large bowl, combine the chopped tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
