Prep the Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Coat the Calamari
Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the coated calamari rings in batches to the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Prepare the Salad
In a large bowl, toss together arugula, halved grape tomatoes, and sliced hot banana peppers.

Serve
Plate the fried calamari on top of the salad and sprinkle with grated parmigiano-reggiano cheese. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
