Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) until smooth, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a separate bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract until well combined and slightly frothy.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture and stir to combine. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 5
Fill Ramekins
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 6
Bake
Place the ramekins on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
- 7
Serve
Let the fondants cool for 1 minute, then carefully invert onto plates. Serve immediately with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of ice cream.
