Preparation of the Tomato Topping

Chop Tomatoes and Basil
Dice the fresh tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a mixing bowl. Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl.

Season the Mixture
Add balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper to the tomato and basil mixture. Stir gently to combine all the ingredients. Set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
Preparation of the Bruschetta Base

Slice the Baguette
Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices on a diagonal to create larger surface area for toppings.

Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet, brush both sides with olive oil, and bake for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy.

Rub with Garlic
Remove the toasted baguette from the oven and while still warm, rub one side of each slice with a garlic clove to impart flavor.

Top the Bread
Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously onto the toasted side of each baguette slice.

Arrange the bruschetta on a serving platter and serve immediately for best taste.
