Waffle Batter
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Waffle Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just mixed. Do not overmix; small lumps are okay.
- 2
Preheat the Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions until it is hot and ready for use.
- 3
Cook the Waffles
Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the center of the preheated waffle iron (usually about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, depending on the size of your waffle iron). Close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden brown and crisp, about 5 minutes. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- 4
Serve
Serve the waffles warm topped with butter, and drizzle with maple syrup or simple syrup. Dust with icing sugar if desired.
