Directions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all ingredients to ensure you have everything ready for the toasts.
- 2
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush both sides of the sourdough bread slices with olive oil and place them on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- 3
Assemble the Toasts
Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven. On each slice of toast, layer the cooked chicken, then the deli ham, followed by the diced green chile.
- 4
Add Cheese
Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheese over each assembled toast.
- 5
Melt the Cheese
Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- 6
Season and Serve
Remove the toasts from the oven. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Top each toast with a spoonful of tomatillo salsa and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired. Serve warm.
