Method

Grilling Sausages

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using wood, ensure that the wood is well-seasoned for a great smoky flavor.

  2. 2

    Grill the Sausages

Place the Schreiner's jalapeño cilantro pork sausages on the grill and cook for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until they are browned and cooked through.

Cooking Onions

  1. 3

    Sauté the Onions

In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sweet onions, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently until the onions are caramelized and tender.

Preparing Pinto Beans

  1. 4

    Heat the Beans

In a pot, combine the cooked pinto beans, minced garlic, and cumin. Cook over medium heat until heated through, about 5 minutes.

  2. 5

    Finish the Beans

Stir in the chopped cilantro and lime juice. Remove from heat and keep warm until ready to serve.

Plating

  1. 6

    Serve

On a plate, layer the wood oven roasted sweet onions and pinto beans. Top with the grilled jalapeño cilantro pork sausages. Garnish with additional cilantro if desired.
