Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the New York Strip Steak with salt and black pepper. Heat a skillet over high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sear the steak for about 1-2 minutes on each side until browned but still rare in the center. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  2. 2

    Chill the Steak

Wrap the seared steak in plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up for easier slicing.

  3. 3

    Slice the Steak

Once firm, remove the steak from the freezer and slice it as thinly as possible using a sharp knife.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Plate

Arrange the sliced steak on a large plate. Drizzle with the remaining olive oil and lemon juice. Scatter capers and arugula over the top.

  5. 5

    Add Cheese & Serve

Shave Parmesan cheese over the carpaccio. Serve immediately with toast points on the side.
