Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the French bread into 1-inch cubes and set aside.

  2. 2

    Mix the Custard

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Bread and Custard

Add the bread cubes to the custard mixture, gently folding until all the bread is coated and soaking up the mixture. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baking Dish

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with half of the butter. Pour the bread mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.

  5. 5

    Bake the Pudding

Dot the top of the bread pudding with the remaining butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.

  6. 6

    Serve

Let the bread pudding cool for a few minutes before serving. Drizzle with maple syrup and top with fresh strawberries.
