Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Once the yeast is activated, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Pizza Assembly

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 7

    Prepare Pizza Base

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air, then roll it out on a floured surface to the desired thickness.

  3. 8

    Add Sauce

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface.

  4. 9

    Add Cheese and Toppings

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then evenly distribute the pepperoni slices on top. Finally, sprinkle dried oregano over everything.

  5. 10

    Bake Pizza

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
