Pizza Assembly and Baking
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
- 2
Prepare the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Transfer it to a floured surface and roll it out into a 12-inch circle.
- 3
Add Sauce
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a parchment paper-lined pizza peel or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 4
Add Cheese and Basil
Tear the fresh mozzarella into small pieces and distribute evenly over the sauce. Add fresh basil leaves on top.
- 5
Drizzle with Olive Oil
Drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil over the pizza and season with salt to taste.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven. Bake for about 10-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 7
Cool and Serve
Once done, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes. Slice and serve hot, garnished with additional basil if desired.
